Aromatherapy is the practice of using volatile plant
oils, including essential oils, for psychological and physical well
being. The aroma stimulates the brain to trigger a reaction. The
essential oil (a liquid, not actually an oil), is drawn into the
bloodstream by either inhalation or absorption stimulating a physical effect.
Aromatherapy has been practiced for approx.. 6000
years. It is believed to have originated in Egypt, traveling to
Greece, Rome, the far East, and beyond. It wasnt until 1937
that the term "aromatherapy" was coined. Today,
aromatherapy has grown in popularity along with many other ancient
methods of alternative healing.
